| Theatre includes: his first Broadway show, the original Broadway production of Les Misérables for Cameron Mackintosh. Also on Broadway, Alex Dillingham in Aspects of Love for Andrew Lloyd Webber, the title role in the Alan Menken and Tim Rice musical King David (Walt Disney Company), the title role in The Phantom of the Opera and Billy Bigelow in Nicholas Hytner’s revival of Carousel. Off-Broadway, Marcus has worked at the Joseph Papp Public Theatre, WPA, in the Charles Busch play Queen Amarantha and as Bobby Strong in Urinetown. In the West End Marcus originated the role of The Man in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Whistle Down the Wind and appeared as Judas Iscariot and Joe Gillis in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 50th Birthday Celebration (Royal Albert Hall). He has also appeared at L’Opera de Paris and Carnegie Hall as well as numerous venues throughout America. Recordings and concerts include: Les Misérables (original Broadway cast), King David (world premiere), Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 50th and Whistle Down the Wind (world premiere). His debut solo album Marcus Lovett, The Give Moment was released in 2008. His current album Marcus Lovett, Where Is Love? will be released in the UK in the autumn. Film includes: Pieces of April written and directed by Peter Hedges, Jeffrey by Paul Rudnick and the title role in the animated feature Young Herc.
